History
Dakar Software Systems started business over 11 years ago and immediately established itself in Malta as one of the leading providers of Payroll applications for the then-prevalent DOS Operating System. Over the years, the Payroll system was installed at various clients in Malta and Gozo and more recently overseas as well. Our clients range from those employing only a few staff to those whose payroll handles over 6000 employees. Clients are spread across a variety of commercial, industrial and government sectors, ranging from small businesses, through medium-sized companies, to large organizations and Government/Parastatal bodies. To date, we have over 550 local installations and these are responsible to pay more than 120,000 employees. No wonder that our Payroll systems are locally considered as a de facto standard. More recently, our solutions have also been implemented abroad at various corporations within the oil and hospitality sectors.
This assortment of clients coming from diverse sectors, and the consequent need to address a wide range of business requirements in varying scenarios, compel us to continually keep enriching our systems with new levels of functionality and up-to-date solutions. This ever-growing, specialised knowledge that we enjoy in the discipline empowers us to re-channel this knowledge into our existing applications thereby making them ever more powerful and sophisticated. This scenario guarantees our clients with state-of-the-art and cutting edge solutions on an on-going basis.
Our Payroll system has enjoyed for a long time a reputation for excellent features that provide levels of functionality far exceeding those in locally competing payrolls. Additionally, from the outset, Dakar Software Systems aimed at providing a level of support to really meet our clients strict demands for quality service. Functionality and Support became an integral part of our mission statement these keywords continue to inspire our philosophy and drive our efforts toward a promising future that builds on past achievements while enjoying the trust of a satisfied, loyal clientele.
Our extensive experience in People Management applications, acquired mainly locally but consolidated overseas, enables us not only to keep enhancing our solutions but also to act as consultants for professional bodies, private companies and Government agencies. In fact, most of these already employ our HR solutions to help them achieve effective management strategies and a more efficient operation.
Dakar Software Systems aims to retain and consolidate its current privileged status to remain a dominant player in the People Management scenario. To ensure this, we remain abreast of new technology in the IT/Communications sector, and we regularly upgrade our software applications to reflect, and benefit from, state-of-the-art technology.
We also subscribe to international management journals, as well as having close contacts with professionals in the field of Human Resources, so that our solutions correspond with developing methodologies and policies in this important discipline. In fact, we are glad to say that our solutions have paralleled the significant growth realised in, and the higher profile achieved by, the HR discipline during the last decade.
Since our initial provision of DOS-based Payroll applications, our core activities have been augmented to cater for additional clients demands concerning specific functionality, such as Personnel and Time-&-Attendance management. This reality, in turn, pushed us to become dealers for leading HR international packages and, subsequently, to replace these with our own in-house developed applications. We can therefore offer a comprehensive, fully-integrated suite of modules addressing the whole spectrum of People Management applications.
Our current flagship product, DakarHR, is based on a true 32-bit database engine operating under the Windows Operating Systems (XP/2000) in both single-user and multi-user, networked configurations. We are glad to say that our clients confirm that it has a significant favourable impact on their operations and bottom line.
Other new products and services we launched recently are: (a) an Internet-based Payroll for small businesses and (b) a web-enabled portal for our DakarHR suite of modules.
Our core mission focuses on two complementary targets: (i) state-of-the-art software applications to provide superior People Management solutions and (ii) an excellent support service for our clients, in which 80% of our workforce is engaged. These two pillars of our business activity are the secret of our success and they explain why our company has locally continued to acquire market share and a higher profile while establishing a firm foothold abroad within specialised markets
